Office Workers Access Home Email, PC Files and "Peek In" with I'm InTouch

2002 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), LAS VEGAS, NV – Smart*Home and Palm Solutions Pavilion Booth 14525D – January 7, 2002 – Home PC users with broadband Internet connections are taking advantage of their "always on, always connected" set-up with services like 01 Communique's I'm InTouch. The PC messaging and communications company, today announced that its next generation I'm InTouch remote access service is being used by people to access Outlook or Outlook Express email and files on their home PC from the office. The company also notes that users are "peeking in" at home through the video-monitoring feature of I'm InTouch.

The application also includes the ability to remotely monitor up to 4 video cameras that may be attached to a user's PC. "The video monitoring capability is another great feature. According to Nielsen//NetRatings, a leading Internet audience measurement service, the total number of at-home broadband users in the U.S. surpassed 21 million, during the month of November 2001, setting an all-time high. In addition, the number of surfers accessing the Internet via a high-speed connection in November jumped 90 percent from 2000.
