Q. How does Remote wake-up work and how can I enable it?
Remote wake-up allows you to remotely wake-up a computer that is powered off.
To remotely wake-up a computer, I'm InTouch will notify another I’m InTouch computer on your local network to send the wake-up signal to turn on that computer. In order for remote wake-up to work, at least one computer on your network must be on and designated as a wake-up proxy for I'm InTouch to send the wake-up signal to other computers.
To enable the wake-up feature simply:
- Go to www.imintouch.com and then click on the Login button.
- Enter the administrator’s Login ID and Password and click the Go button.
- From your List of Computers page, place check-marks next to the computers whose Remote Wake-Up properties you wish to change and click the Settings/Activate link.
- On the Settings page, ensure that each computer that you would like to be able to wake-up has a check-mark in the box “On”. Remember, at least one computer must have set as the Proxy computer, so make sure this computer has a check-mark in the box “Proxy”; the Proxy computer must be always on. We recommend enabling the Proxy setting to all your computers in the network, so that any computer can act as the proxy to wake-up the other computers.
- Once you finish, click the Save button.
- At this point, you can wake-up any computer turned off by simply entering the computer name at the Login page or by clicking on its Nickname from the List of Computers page.
